Credit Card Updates

Your GECU credit card is about to get even better!

At the end of October, we are moving our credit cards to a new processor to streamline our internal processes. In addition to an enhanced online experience, you can look forward to: customizable credit card alerts, interactive texting to stay on top of your accounts, enhanced statements that are easier to read, and more!

When?

We will transfer to our new card system at the end of business on October 26th and will be up and running on October 27thDuring the transfer, you will not experience any interruption of service.

Read these important details below, plus see: Important Dates  |  Making Your Payment  |  Card Specific Details

Important Details

You can expect to receive a new card in the mail in the beginning of November. There are no changes being made to your current card and rewards program (as applicable, not all our cards have rewards); all terms and conditions remain the same. But there are a few important details to note:

  • Your Card. During this transition, you can continue to use your card as usual; it will work until your new card is activated. You will receive your new card within the first two weeks of November. Activate and start using it immediately; the new golden-yellow edge will make it even easier to find in your wallet!
  • Your Account Number. Your credit card account number, the expiration date, and the CVV (3-digit security code on the back of your card) will change. Please notify any merchants where your account is saved on file such as: utility providers, health clubs, or online shopping retailers.
  • eStatements. After October 26th, your historical eStatements will no longer be available. Download and save past eStatements for your records. You will need to re-enroll in eStatements after the transfer.
    • All cardholders will receive a paper statement in the mail for the month of October, even if you typically receive eStatements.
  • Payment Remittance. Beginning on October 27th, the payment address will change to: P.O. BOX 672051 Dallas, TX 75267. If your payments are set up through a bill pay service, you'll need to update this address and your card details.
  • Online Card Access Site. The Credit Card tab is being renamed to GoToMyCard in Online Banking; with access through our mobile app, too!
  • FICO Scores. Unfortunately, our new card processor does not offer the ability to display FICO Scores within Online Banking; FICO Scores will not be available after we transfer. We are looking into other solutions to offer this service in the future.
  • Apple Pay®, Google Pay®, and Samsung Pay®: When you receive your new card, add it to your preferred mobile digital wallet immediately and delete your old card.

Important Dates

  • Monday, October 22: Last day to make payments online in Online Banking; payments cannot be made online October 23rd - 26th. Plan ahead and make your payment prior to October 22nd if possible, or make your payment by: visiting a branch, mailing in your payment, or contacting Member Services.
  • Friday, October 26: Beginning at 6pm on Friday, access to your credit card information in Online Banking or our mobile app will be unavailable as we transfer to a new processor. Your card service will not be interrupted.
  • Saturday, October 27: You may access the new GoToMyCard site through Online Banking and our mobile app to re-enroll in credit card eStatements, and re-estabalish your scheduled payments.
    • The GoToMyCard site will be available beginning on Saturday, October 27th; however, your credit card account will not populate in the My Accounts list (within Online Banking or our mobile app) until Monday, October 29th
  • Wednesday, October 31: All credit cards will be re-issued and will mail to all credit cardholders. New cards should arrive within the first two weeks of November.
  • Wednesday, November 7: For Platinum, Visa Signature, and Business cardholders, the new Rewards! site and all point information will be available through the GoToMyCard tab in Online Banking and our mobile app.
  • Thursday, November 15: If you have not received your new GECU credit card, please contact us.

Making Your Payment

  • October 23 - October 26: During this time, you will not be able to access “Make a Payment” from within the Credit Card tab to set up new online payments. If your payment is due during that time, please make your payment online beforehand or by: visiting a branch, mailing in your payment, or contacting Member Services.
    • If you have a one-time scheduled payment occurring by October 25th, it will occur; payments scheduled for the 26th or after, will not.
  • October 27: The payment remittance address will change to: P.O. BOX 672051 Dallas, TX 75267. If your payments are set up through a bill pay service, you’ll need to update this address and your card details.
  • Scheduled transfers to your GECU credit card in Online Banking (via Move Money, Make/Schedule Transfer) or our mobile app (via Transfer) will need to be re-established beginning October 29th.
