Make a Transfer

With Online and Mobile Banking easily and securely transfer money between your GECU accounts, to other members, or to/from external accounts you own at other financial institutions.

Transfer Funds Between Your Internal Accounts

Stay in control of your finances by easily transferring, one-time or recurring, between your various GECU accounts within Online or Mobile Banking. Internal transfers can be sent in real-time or scheduled for a future date.

Transfer Through Online Banking
  1. Click Make/Schedule a Transfer under the Move Money.
  2. Select account you want to transfer funds From, then the account To accounts and date, then enter the amount you would like to transfer.
  3. Make this a recurring transfer by checking Repeat . Then select the frequency, date, and duration of your repeating transfers and click Save.
  4. Click Make transfer and Confirm.
  5. To view upcoming scheduled transfers, click View scheduled transfers under Move Money.

Note: If you have hidden an account, this account will not appear as a choice. If you set up a transfer before hiding that account, it will not occur after you hide the account. 

Transfer In Mobile Banking app
  1. Tap Transfers. (Android users, first click the menu icon.)
  2. Select the account you want to transfer funds From, then the account To
  3. Enter the amount you want to transfer.
  4. Tap Transfer and Confirm.

Note: Recurring transfers cannot be set up or managed in the Mobile Banking app.

Transfer Funds Using External Accounts

Conveniently transfer funds, one time or recurring, between your deposit accounts at another financial institution and your GECU deposit accounts (i.e. checking, savings, HSA, and Money Market Plus). Transferring funds to/from deposit external accounts is not available in the mobile app. Learn about making payments from external accounts within Online and Mobile Banking

Transfer Through Online Banking

  1. Click External Transfer for Deposits under Move Money.
  2. Add an external account from another financial institution by clicking Add a New Account underneath the From and To fields.
  3. Select the account type, enter an account nickname, then enter the routing number and account number as indicated; click Next.
  4. Verify the external account in one of two ways:
    1. Verify instantly: Log in to the external bank account using your external account's login credentials to verify ownership the account.
    2. Verify with bank deposits: Verify two small deposits posted to your bank account in 1 to 2 business days.
  5. Once verified, your external account will be available in your From and To options when moving money.
  6. View previous transfers or edit/view scheduled transfers with external accounts by clicking External Transfer for Deposits under Move Money, and choose the Activity tab.

Transfer Funds to Another GECU Member

Easily send funds to another GECU member using the recipient's last name and full account number. This is a great way to send money to kids at college, reimburse a sibling, pay a coworker or friend, etc. Transfers from one GECU member's account to another are made in real-time and cannot be scheduled for a later date or recurring.  

Send Through Online Banking

  1. Click Make/Schedule a Transfer under the Move Money tab.
  2. On the right, click Add Recipient under Quickly send money to another member.
  3. Enter the recipient (how their name will appear in your To list), the first three letters of the member's last name, and their full account number, click Add Recipient.
  4. Select the From account and then for the To, choose the recipient.
  5. Enter the transfer amount, click Make transfer, and Confirm.
  6. Moving forward, added recipients will appear in your To options in Online and Mobile Banking. To view or remove, click Member Transfer Destination under the Move Money tab.

Note: Future or recurring transfers are not available when sending funds to other GECU members.

Send In Mobile Banking app
  1. Tap Transfers. (Android users, first tap the menu icon.)
  2. Select the account you want to transfer funds From and tap the To field.
  3. Under Recipients, Add a recipient.
  4. Enter the first three letters of the member’s last name, and their full account number, then Verify Recipient.
  5. Enter the amount you want to transfer, Transfer, then Confirm.
  6. Moving forward, added recipients will appear in your To transfer option in Online and Mobile Banking.

Note: You cannot set up future or recurring transfers to other GECU members. 

 


Make or Schedule a Payment

Never miss a payment. Easily make a GECU loan payment by setting up one-time or recurring payments within Online or Mobile Banking.  

Make/Schedule Payments from an Internal Account

Make a one-time or set up recurring loan payments from your GECU accounts. 

Within Online Banking

  1. Click Make/Schedule a Payment under the Move Money tab.
  2. Select account you want to make a payment From and the loan account to make a payment on in the To field. Select the date to pay and amount. 
  3. Make this a recurring payment by checking Repeat. Select the frequency, date, and duration of your recurring payment and click Save.
  4. Click Make transfer and Confirm.
  5. To view your upcoming scheduled payments, just hover over Move Money in the main navigation and click View scheduled transfers.
Within Mobile Banking
  1. Tap Transfers. (Android users, first tap the menu icon.)
  2. Select the account to pay funds From and the loan account To pay. 
  3. Enter the payment amount.
  4. Tap Transfer and Confirm.

Note: Recurring transfers cannot be set up or managed in the Mobile Banking app.

Make/Schedule Payments from an External (Non-GECU) Account

Make or schedule a one-time or recurring loan payment from an external (other financial institution) account within Online Banking or our mobile app. To do so, you will need your other financial institution's routing number and account number. 

Within Online Banking

  1. Click External Transfer for Payment under the Move Money tab.
  2. Click Make payment and select Pay from bank account.
  3. Select the type of account to make the payment from then enter the routing number and account number. Click Continue.
    • The new external bank account automatically populates the From field and will appear as an option for future payments until deleted. 
  4. Select the loan to pay in the Pay Loan field.
  5. Make a payment recurring by checking Repeat and select the frequency and length of your recurring payment.
  6. Read and check the box next to I agree to the terms & conditions and click Continue.
  7. Review and Make Payment.

To view past payments and future dated loan payments, return to the Make/Schedule a Payment page under the Move Money tab in the main navigation.

Within Mobile Banking
  1. Android users, first tap the menu icon; Apple users tap More. Then select Loan Payment.
  2. Select Pay from Bank Account.
  3. To add a new account, tap +Add an External Account, and enter the account type, routing number, and account number. Select Continue
  4. Select an account to pay From and a loan account to pay To.
  5. Your loan payment will pre-fill but you can make some adjustments. 
  6. Select the date to Initiate Payment On
  7. To make a payment recurring, check the Repeat box and select the frequency and duration of the recurring payment.
  8. Agree to the Terms & Conditions, select Continue.
  9. Review the payment details and Confirm
