General Electric Credit Union (GECU) Group Membership Privileges
Who is GECU?
The history of credit unions date back to
the mid-1800’s in Europe. These non-profit organizations were first established
as a full financial cooperative that focuses on the member’s needs first,
instead of money.
GECU was founded in 1954, for the
employees of General Electric Aircraft Engines. After expanding to a larger
office in Evendale (on Reading Road), GECU opened their field of membership to
Select Employer Groups (SEGs) and in 2007, expanded their field of membership to
those who live, work, worship, or
attend school in the following Ohio counties: Hamilton, Butler, Warren,
Clermont, and Montgomery.
SEGs are companies that offer the benefits
of GECU membership to their employees for FREE! GECU currently serves over 325 SEGs and their employees.
