Individual Retirement Accounts (IRAs)

Individual Retirement Accounts are a great way to save for retirement. Unlike the stock market, IRAs offer guaranteed steady earnings and your dividends earned are often tax deferred. Plus, you can potentially enjoy other tax advantages with an IRA.

IRA Certificates offer various terms with low minimum balances. Plus, as a convenience to you, your IRA Certificate will automatically renew at maturity at the prevailing rate, unless you choose otherwise. As with all certificates, there may be penalties for withdrawing the funds before the maturity date. Review these disclosures for more information.

The IRA Passbook Account can help build your retirement fund as well. With our IRA Passbook, there is no minimum balance requirement and all it takes is $5.00 to open the account. Contributing is easy... you can use payroll deduction or speak with a loan officer at an office location for more details.

Unlike certificates, IRAs need to be opened through the IRA Specialist or through a loan officer. Stop-by your local GECU office or call to make an appointment to open your GECU IRA account.

All Individual Retirement Accounts are federally insured separately up to $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration.
