Pay in store, in app, and on the web with Samsung Pay™ 

With Samsung Pay, carry all of your GECU debit and credit cards on your Samsung devices and smartwatches. It's a simple and fast way to make payments, and it works at almost any retailer where you can swipe or tap a card!

Getting Started

  1. Activate Samsung Pay: Find the Samsung Pay app on your phone, or download it from Google Play. Sign in to your Samsung account.
  2. Set up authentication: Scan your fingerprint or iris, and enter a PIN, to authenticate future purchases.
  3. Add your GECU cards: Take a picture of the front and back of your card(s), enter the security code on the back, and accept the Terms and Conditions.
  4. Use Samsung Pay: Once you've added your GECU card(s), you are now ready to start using Samsung Pay.
    • In store: To use at checkout, open the Samsung Pay app on your device, authorize the purchase (with your fingerprint, iris, or PIN), and hover your device over the card reader where you'd usually swipe your card - it's that simple!
    • In app: Instead of entering you credit card information, just select Samsung Pay at checkout, and scan your fingerprint, iris, or enter PIN.
    • Online: Make online purchases across your devices from a single Samsung Pay account, authenticated at checkout by your fingerprint, iris, or your PIN.

Note: After your card is added, it will be verified by GECU and Visa or Mastercard. This verification could take 5 to 10 minutes; during this time, you will be unable to use your card in Samsung Pay. After the card is verified, it can be used immediately to make a purchase.  

Samsung Pay Security

To protect your information, Samsung Pay uses tokenization to process your payments. Instead of transmitting your physical card number, each card is assigned a unique sequence of numbers called a “token;” the token is encrypted so your personal account information is never shared with merchants. Additionally, your device is secured with your fingerprint and a PIN code; this is required to make a purchase.

  • If your GECU card is lost or stolen, contact GECU Member Services immediately; a representative can cancel your card, order a new one, and deactivate your credit or debit card in Samsung Pay to ensure there is no unauthorized use of your card. 
  • If your Samsung device is lost or stolen, you may contact GECU Member Services or Samsung Support at: 855.648.2862 to deactivate your GECU card in the device. You should also contact your mobile service provider. In addition, Samsung provides a Find My Mobile to locating your device and remotely disable the cards you've added in Samsung Pay. Please refer to the Samsung website for more information about the Find My Mobile feature.

Additionally, be sure to keep your device updated to the latest operating system. System updates typically include security enhancements to protect your device from vulnerabilities. Devices not updated or phones that are "jailbroken" are at risk as they're less protected from malicious software.

What Samsung devices are compatible for use with Samsung Pay?
Most new Samsung models are compatible with Samsung Pay. Please visit Samsung Pay Support for a complete list of compatible devices.
Is there a fee to use Samsung Pay?
No. Please be aware that message and data rates may apply, depending on your data plan.
Where can I use Samsung Pay?
Samsung Pay works almost anywhere you can swipe or tap your card. Note that Samsung Pay does not currently work at gas station pumps where you have to insert your card, but will work at most gas station cashier card readers.
What GECU cards can I add to Samsung Pay?
Samsung Pay will work with GECU credit and debit cards.
How do I determine my default payment card in Samsung Pay?
The last card you made a purchase with in Samsung Pay will automatically appear as the card that would be used the next time you open the app. However, you can always swipe between all the cards you have added and select a different card before making a purchase.
How are my privacy and personal information protected?
For security reasons, you may receive a “verification required” message when you add a card to Samsung Pay. Once you’ve verified your card, you’ll see an on-screen message letting you know your card is ready for use. Additionally, your Samsung Pay cards are protected by your Samsung Pay PIN or fingerprint. When you make payments with Samsung Pay, your actual card number is not stored on your mobile device and it won’t be shared with the merchants you pay with. Instead you’ll be assigned a unique device account number for each card, different than your actual card account number.
How do I return an item that I bought using Samsung Pay in a store?
To return something you purchased in-store with Samsung Pay, swipe up from the home button or open the Samsung Pay app, select the card you paid with, verify your fingerprint or PIN, and then hover your device over the card reader to complete the return. For some returns, you might be asked for the last 4 digits of your device account number. You can find your device account number on the card details screen in your Samsung Pay app.
What if my GECU credit or debit card is lost or stolen?
Please contact GECU Member Services immediately to let us know. You should also mention that you added your GECU card to Samsung Pay. We can cancel your card, order a new one, and deactivate your card in Samsung Pay to ensure there is no unauthorized use of your card.
What if my Samsung device is lost or stolen?
If your Samsung device is lost or stolen, you may contact Samsung Pay Support at: 1-855-648-2862 to deactivate your card in the device. You should also contact your mobile service provider. You may also be able to use Samsung’s Find My Mobile service to locate it and remotely disable the cards you’ve added in Samsung Pay. Please refer to the Samsung website for more information about the Find My Mobile feature.
