FAQs
A balance transfer fee is a charge applied when you move a balance from one credit card to another. For your GECU card, the fee is $10 or 3% of the transferred amount, whichever is greater. It applies to transfers from other credit cards to your GECU card.
When you open a new GECU credit card, you can select the balance transfer option during the application process. Once you’re approved, your balance transfer request will be processed automatically. Transfers typically take 7–10 business days, but timing may vary.
Opening a new card and transferring balances may impact your credit score temporarily, but lowering your interest and paying down debt can help over time.
