CT Security Services: A Family-Owned Business Growing Nationwide

Seven years ago, Zach and Katie Collins were looking to spend more time with family and have more financial freedom. They opened CT Security Services to make this dream a reality, offering security, fire alarm, access control, and surveillance integration solutions to the community. As the business grew, they would add IT consulting, managed services, and tailoring technology for businesses to the list.
“We get to travel a lot more. We get to schedule our own hours, so it has allowed us to create the lifestyle and the family dynamic that we would like to have,” says Katie Collins.

When it came to finding the right business banking partner, the pair didn’t have to look far. They turned to General Electric Credit Union (GECU), where Zach Collins had been a member for 25 years.
“I had my first car loan with GECU...that’s where I would go and bank to get all my financial needs [met], so it just made sense when the business came that we trusted GECU with our business needs,” says Zach Collins.

They opened a Business Advantage Money Market Account and business certificates with different term lengths to take advantage of GECU’s deposit rates. These interest earnings allowed them to grow their balance and reinvest funds to fuel their continued growth.

They also enjoy Treasury Management services to help with cash flow solutions and dedicated support from their GECU Business Services representative.

“When we initially signed up with our [GECU] business accounts, we were given account representative Kyle Musgrove,” says Zach Collins. “At other institutions when you first sign up you have an account rep, and then you get handed off to the branches. Whereas Kyle has really stuck with us and helped us grow our business.”

This level of support, paired with tailored solutions, has allowed CT Security Services to thrive in the Cincinnati metro area while also expanding to eight states nationwide. Katie Collins references these factors in her recommendations to aspiring business owners.

“Have a good support team, find a good financial institution, and then just follow your passion and drive for reaching your goals."
